Quick Check Test (QCT)

Work | Abilities | Administrative Roles

It is important for organisations to select participants who have a high level of detail checking accuracy when that specific job calls for participants to be able to identify, as well as, rectify mistakes. Participants with a below average detail checking ability score are less likely to be able to accurately check detail oriented work. Participants who have an above average detail checking ability score are more likely to recognise mistakes.

The QCT is designed to measure a participant’s checking accuracy. Participants are presented with detail orientation pairs of words, numbers and a combination of both words and numbers. Participants are asked to determine whether the pairs are identical or not. An accurate detail checking ability is important for jobs that require individuals to have a high level of detail orientation.

ASSESSMENT SCALES

The Quick Check Test assesses participants in 3 areas:

  • Word Checking: Similarities and differences between words alone
  • Number Checking: Similarities and differences between numbers alone
  • Combination Checking: Similarities and differences between a combination of both words and Numbers

AREAS OF APPLICATION

The QCT is useful in aiding practitioners with their screening, recruitment and selection decisions.

REPORT OPTION

Quick Check Test Individual Profile Report: This report provides a candidate with an overall detail checking ability result categorised as ‘below average checking ability (Stanine 1-3)’;‘average checking ability (Stanine 4-6)’; and ‘above average checking ability (Stanine 7-9)’. The amount of time the candidate took to complete the assessment, as well as the participants percentile score, is also given to aid in the decision-making process.
