Children's Depression Inventory 2 (CDI 2)

Indicates severity of depressive symptoms in children and adolescents.

The Children’s Depression Inventory 2 (CDI2) quantifies depressive symptomatology using reports from children/adolescents; teachers, and parents. When results from the CDI 2 are combined with other sources of verified information, the CDI 2 can aid in the early identification of depressive symptoms, diagnosis of depression and related disorders and monitoring of treatment effectiveness.


ASSESSMENT SCALES

The CDI 2 measures depressive symptomology on the following scales:

Scales:

  • Emotional Problems

  • Functional Problems


Subscales:

  • Negative Mood

  • Negative Self-Esteem

  • Ineffectiveness

  • Interpersonal Problems


AREAS OF APPLICATION

The CDI 2 is used by psychologists inboth educational and clinical settings to help:

Support early identification and diagnosis

Assess self-reported presence and severity of key symptoms of depression, such as a child’s feelings of worthlessness and loss of interest in activities

Development of targeted treatment plans

Conduct clinical research


REPORT OPTIONS

The CDI2 has the following software report available:

  • Assessment Report: provides detailed results from one administration.

  • Progress Report: provides an overview of change over time by combining results from up to four administrations.

  • Comparative Report: provides an overview of the child’s symptoms from a multi-rater perspective and highlights inter-rater differences in scores from up to five different raters.
