The Children’s Depression Inventory 2 (CDI2) quantifies depressive symptomatology using reports from children/adolescents; teachers, and parents. When results from the CDI 2 are combined with other sources of verified information, the CDI 2 can aid in the early identification of depressive symptoms, diagnosis of depression and related disorders and monitoring of treatment effectiveness.
The CDI 2 measures depressive symptomology on the following scales:
- Emotional Problems
- Functional Problems
- Negative Mood
- Negative Self-Esteem
- Interpersonal Problems
AREAS OF APPLICATION
The CDI 2 is used by psychologists inboth educational and clinical settings to help:
Support early identification and diagnosis
Assess self-reported presence and severity of key symptoms of depression, such as a child’s feelings of worthlessness and loss of interest in activities
Development of targeted treatment plans
Conduct clinical research
The CDI2 has the following software report available:
- Assessment Report: provides detailed results from one administration.
- Progress Report: provides an overview of change over time by combining results from up to four administrations.
- Comparative Report: provides an overview of the child’s symptoms from a multi-rater perspective and highlights inter-rater differences in scores from up to five different raters.
