The Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation (BSS) provides an evaluation of suicidal thinking and intent that helps identify individuals at risk. The questionnaire assesses the person’s current intensity of attitudes, plans, and behaviours to commit suicide, by examining the duration and frequency of ideation, the sense of control over an attempt, the number of deterrents, and the amount of planning involved into a contemplated attempt.
AREAS OF APPLICATION
Reveals specific suicidal characteristics that require greater clinical scrutiny.
REPORT OPTIONS
- Interpretive Report: provides a graphical presentation of the client’s raw score, a brief interpretation of the client’s score, and a list of endorsed items.
- Progress Report: provides an overview of change over time by combining candidate results from multiple administrations.
