Stroop Colour and Word Test

The Stroop Color and Word Test is a renowned cognitive processing assessment that provides valuable diagnostic information on brain dysfunction, cognition, and psychopathology. The cognitive dimension tapped into by the Stroop is associated with cognitive flexibility, resistance to interference from outside stimuli, creativity, and psychopathology –all of which influence the individual’s ability to cope with cognitive stress and process complex input.


ASSESSMENT SCALES

An interference score can be calculated which is useful in determining the individual’s cognitive flexibility, creativity, and reaction to cognitive stress.


AREAS OF APPLICATION

The Stroop is most commonly used in neuropsychological settings to determine brain dysfunction.


REPORT OPTION

The Stroop does not currently have a report since it is a hand-scored assessment.


SOUTH AFRICAN RESEARCH

Although no South African research is currently available on the Stroop Color and Word Test, JVR Psychometrics welcomes the opportunity to partner with clients to conduct research on this product.
