Updated South African as well as global norms will be available for the HPI, HDS, and MVPI from 1 June 2023.
What does this mean?
- The South African Hogan norms first became available in 2012. As per best practice, these norms have now been updated 10 years later, on a sample of data collected between 2018 and 2022.
- While it follows that the current norm sample is therefore more representative of the current working population, in practice, the new norms should have little impact on Hogan scores and overall profiles. In their 2023 Norm Impact Analysis White Paper.pdf, the Hogan research team highlights how for the majority of score-based reports, the difference in scores is less than 5 percentiles.
- The new norms will be available on both HALO and JVROnline: the update will be automatic, so you don’t have to worry about how you’ve set up your projects on these portals.
